Terms of Service — Furwise

Effective date: April 24, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you ("you") and OrcaKobo, an independent studio based in Taiwan ("OrcaKobo", "we", "us"), covering your use of the Furwise mobile application and related services (together, the "Service").

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Furwise is available only in English. Translations of marketing or in-product copy are for convenience; these Terms are written in English and the English version prevails.

1. Who we are

Furwise is an independent product by OrcaKobo. OrcaKobo is a sole proprietorship based in Taiwan, not an incorporated company. You can reach us at [email protected].

2. What Furwise does

Furwise is a consumer mobile app for cat caregivers. It helps you log day-to-day care (feeding, litter, medication, weight), coordinate across a household, see patterns based on what you record, and use AI-assisted features such as photo-based facial cue observations.

Furwise is designed for informational and organizational use only. It is not a medical device, veterinary service, or diagnostic tool.

3. Who can use Furwise

You may use Furwise if you are at least 13 years old and able to enter into a binding contract under the laws of your country. If you are between 13 and the age of majority where you live, you must have permission from a parent or legal guardian.

You must provide accurate information when registering and keep it up to date. You are responsible for your account and anything that happens under it. If you believe someone has accessed your account without permission, email [email protected] immediately.

4. Subscriptions, payments, and refunds

Furwise offers a free tier and a paid Furwise Pro subscription with additional features.

All paid subscriptions are processed exclusively through Apple's In-App Purchase system. That means:

  • Your payment is collected by Apple, not by OrcaKobo, under Apple's own payment terms (including the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions).
  • Subscriptions auto-renew at the end of each billing period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before renewal, in line with Apple's standard subscription rules.
  • You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions on your device.
  • Refund requests must be submitted to Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. We do not process refunds directly because we do not receive your payment directly.
  • Prices and features of the Pro tier may change. If we change prices, Apple will ask for your consent before the next renewal.

If Apple grants a refund, your access to paid features may end.

5. Your content and cat data

You keep ownership of everything you put into Furwise, including your cat profiles, photos, and care logs ("Your Content").

To run the Service, you grant OrcaKobo a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, process, display, and back up Your Content for the sole purpose of operating, improving, and supporting Furwise for you. We do not sell Your Content and we do not use it to train third-party AI models.

You are responsible for what you upload. Do not upload content you do not have the right to share, including photos of other people's cats or copyrighted material you do not own.

6. Veterinary and medical disclaimer

Read this carefully. It is the most important section of these Terms.

Important. Furwise is not a veterinarian. Furwise does not provide veterinary advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Insights, scores, reminders, and AI-generated observations are informational only and must not be used as a substitute for professional veterinary care.

If your cat shows any sign of illness, pain, injury, or behavioral change, contact a licensed veterinarian immediately. In an emergency, go to a veterinary hospital — do not rely on Furwise.

You, not Furwise, are responsible for every decision you make about your cat's health.

Furwise's photo-based features (such as facial cue observations inspired by published feline pain-scoring research) are not a pain diagnosis. They are informational prompts to help you decide whether to see a vet.

7. AI and data limitations

Furwise uses AI and statistical features to generate insights, summaries, and suggestions. Those outputs:

  • may be inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date;
  • depend heavily on the accuracy of what you log;
  • are generated automatically and are not reviewed by a human expert;
  • must never be treated as a diagnosis or medical advice.

You understand that AI is probabilistic and that you act on AI outputs at your own judgment.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the Service in any way that violates applicable law;
  • upload content that is illegal, abusive, or infringes someone else's rights;
  • reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the app, except to the extent allowed by mandatory local law;
  • interfere with, disrupt, or overload the Service;
  • use bots, scrapers, or automated tools to access the Service at scale;
  • attempt to access another user's account or data;
  • resell, sublicense, or commercially redistribute the Service.

We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules.

9. Service availability and changes

We work to keep Furwise running smoothly, but the Service is provided as-is. We do not promise that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or permanently available. We may change, pause, or discontinue features with reasonable notice through the app, email, or our website.

10. Intellectual property

Everything about the Service other than Your Content, including the app, the "Furwise" and "OrcaKobo" brands, design, code, text, and graphics, belongs to OrcaKobo or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use the app on devices you own or control, solely for your personal, non-commercial use of the Service.

If you believe content on Furwise infringes your rights, contact [email protected] with (i) a description of the work, (ii) the location of the allegedly infringing content, and (iii) your contact info and a good-faith statement.

11. Privacy

Your privacy matters to us. Our Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights. By using the Service, you agree to the Privacy Policy.

12. Warranty disclaimer

The Service is provided "as-is" and "as-available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that AI outputs or health insights are correct, complete, or suitable for any specific cat or situation. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties; in that case, the above applies only to the extent permitted by law.

13. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • OrcaKobo is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, loss of goodwill, or harm to pets, arising from or related to the Service.
  • OrcaKobo's total aggregate liability to you for all claims arising from or related to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the total amount you actually paid for the Service in the 12 months before the claim arose, or (b) USD 100.

These limits apply even if a remedy fails of its essential purpose. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limits of liability, so parts of this section may not apply to you; in that case our liability will be limited to the greatest extent permitted.

14. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless OrcaKobo and the operator of Furwise from any claim, damage, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from (a) Your Content, (b) your use of the Service, (c) your breach of these Terms, or (d) your violation of any law or third-party right.

15. Termination

You may stop using Furwise at any time and delete your account from within the app. We may suspend or terminate your account if you materially break these Terms, if required by law, or if we decide to discontinue the Service.

Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including the license for content we have already processed, intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and governing law) will survive.

16. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms over time. For material changes, we will notify you in the app or by email before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes become effective means you accept the new Terms. If you do not agree, stop using the Service.

17. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of China (Taiwan), without regard to conflict-of-law principles. You agree that any dispute arising from or related to these Terms or the Service will be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Taipei District Court, Taiwan as the court of first instance.

Nothing in this section limits any non-waivable statutory rights you may have as a consumer under the laws of your country of residence.

18. Miscellaneous

  • Entire agreement. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any Apple Media Services Terms applied to your IAP purchases, are the entire agreement between you and OrcaKobo regarding the Service.
  • Severability. If any part of these Terms is held unenforceable, the rest will remain in effect.
  • No waiver. Our failure to enforce a right is not a waiver of that right.
  • Assignment. You may not assign these Terms. We may assign them to a successor, for example if OrcaKobo becomes an incorporated company or is acquired.
  • Language. These Terms are written in English. Any translation is for convenience; if there is a conflict, the English version prevails.
